On March 14th, the CNR’s headquarters in Rome hosted a meeting of the Executive Committee of the European Ocean Research and Education Alliance (EOREA). The agenda covered discussions on internal governance, updates on the Education Task Force’s progress, and a presentation of the alliance to representatives from the US and French embassies in Italy, as well as the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to review the progress of the four Collaborative Research and Education Programs (CREPs) focusing on aquaculture, climate change’s impact on marine ecosystems, maritime transport, and marine robotics. The commitment and collaboration of the Executive Committee underscored a collective effort to strengthen ties between important academic and technological stakeholders, aiming to bolster Europe’s role in advancing cooperation in ocean research and education.
