Collaborative Research and Education Programmes are inherently collaborative, drawing together the capacities and strengths of several member institutions. They are founded on the principles of cooperation, mutual respect, and shared objectives. Each Collaborative Research and Education Programme typically focuses on a specific theme or issue within marine science. For the moment, we decided to launch 3 of them, but it could be anything from marine biodiversity and ecosystems to ocean-climate links, blue economy, digital twins of the ocean, and engagement with society at large. Those programmes are interdisciplinary and transnational in nature. They encourage the intersection of various disciplines and facilitate collaboration across geographical and political boundaries, enhancing the richness and applicability of research and education outcomes.
