EOREA participated in the Mission event ‘Restore Our Ocean and Waters by 2030’ – The Mediterranean Lighthouse in Action held in Palermo on May 30th and 31st. Organized by the European Commission in collaboration with the Italian government, the Sicily Region, and the University of Palermo, this high-level gathering aimed to gather stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, including international organizations, governments, academia, and NGOs to witness the political commitments of Mediterranean countries towards restoring our ocean and waters.
The conference program featured demonstrations of EU projects aligned with the mission’s objectives, highlighting innovative approaches to marine conservation and sustainability. It showcased an array of initiatives that could be scaled up and implemented in sea basins around Europe. Throughout the event, EOREA engaged in discussions, shared insights, and showcased initiatives aimed at contributing to the restoration of marine ecosystems.
